About

Hello! My name is Mia, I am a second year at the University of Oxford reading Theology. I have tutored GCSE History but I have experience in A Level Maths and RS (in which I received A*AA* respectively) and GCSE Maths, English (Edexcel iGCSE), Biology, Chemistry, Physics (AQA), History (AQA), Spanish (AQA) and Business Studies (AQA) where I was awarded all grade 9s. I also received a grade 8 in the AQA Further Maths certificate (Level 2).

Since my gap year I have been tutoring students from my previous school. I was very happy to help by practicing exam technique and clarifying challenging points of content. I aim to guide the student from a point where they may be confused to understanding. Each student is different and requires their own brand of guidance. A previous student needed help particularly with exam technique, and with it being so close to the exam (we only started working together 6 weeks before their exam), together we were able to identify the main issues they were struggling with and focus on what would make the biggest impact to help the student pass. I am very happy to say they received a positive result. I enjoyed being able to help my students and I find it very rewarding to see them develop confidence in their knowledge.

I also love learning and am enjoying my current degree. It really pushes me to think in novel ways about ancient concepts that really pushes my thinking and academics. In my degree we must engage in history, literary analysis, philosophy, ethics, anthropology, and sociology. The flexibility within one subject is fascinating and keeps me curious and open-minded about complex issues about the fundamental nature of existence.

That is quite a lot about me and I hope that I can help in any way!

I look forward to meeting you :)

- Mia

About

Hiya, I'm Emily! I'm a fifth year medical student at the University of Cambridge, with a degree in genetics (2:1). I've been tutoring ever since I left secondary school (5 years ago now!) and have over 400 hours of teaching under my belt. I have a whole host of experience with special needs and mainstream education, working with children of all abilities to help them fulfill their true potential.

I left school with A*s in my EPQ, Biology, Chemistry, and Spanish A levels, and with an A in Maths. I also managed to achieve a straight run of 9s in the first year of the new GCSE system, with an A** in Further Maths and an A in Statistics - so I'm equipped with all the insider knowledge you need to strive for these top grades. Together we'll come up with an aim for your final grade, and how I can support you in working towards this, both in terms of understanding content and exam technique.

I have been tutoring with Sophos since 2024 (and other companies alongside this), so I've got all the tools you need to create a personalised learning plan for you and your child. I'm more than happy to offer GCSE tutoring in Maths, Chemistry, Biology, Physics, and English Language, as well as A level Biology.

Additionally, I am happy to provide mentoring and advice throughout the university application process, with an emphasis on Oxbridge and medicine applications (naturally). We'll run through the common areas where people trip up, and work through ways we can avoid these mistakes. With personal experience leading interviews, I'll guide you through some of the most commonly asked questions in interviews and we'll brainstorm individual answers so you're as prepared as possible.

I look forward to hearing from you, and helping your child reach their full potential!

Hi! I'm David, a fourth-year medical student at the University of Cambridge with over 6 years of experience tutoring A-level Biology, Chemistry, and Maths. I’ve also supported aspiring medical students with their UCAT prep, personal statements, and interview techniques.

Beyond academics, I have hands-on experience in data analysis within a medical context, utilizing Python to solve complex problems. As the interim captain of my college basketball team, I’ve honed my skills in leadership, logistics, and teamwork. I take pride in helping students set clear, actionable goals—whether that’s mastering challenging concepts, acing the UCAT, or building standout medical applications. What excites me most about medicine is seeing how cutting-edge science translates into real-world advancements in patient care. Outside of my studies, I love staying active on the basketball court and exploring creative coding projects!

About

I'm Elsa, a 4th year PhD student at the University of Cambridge, studying drug development for cardiovascular diseases. I completed my Undergraduate degree in Biology and Master's degree in Regenerative Medicine at Imperial College London. For my A-Levels, I took Biology, Physics, Maths, Japanese, and completed an EPQ. I also have a good foundation in Chemistry from AS-level. I can help with 11+ exams as I took the 11+ myself and scored highly, gaining entry into a grammar school.

I have always enjoyed teaching and mentoring students. When I was a GCSE student myself, I used to set up informal tutoring sessions for my peers during break times. During the second year of my Undergraduate degree, I spent 2 months in Japan at summer camps teaching Biology (specifically, Zoology, Ecology, and Conservation) to high school and university students that were interested in pursuing science in the UK. This not only involved delivering seminars, but also creating freeform discussions about the science and interacting with the students socially. This year, I won an award at a Cambridge university symposium for teaching scientific techniques and mentoring my younger colleagues in the department.

I would class my style of teaching as a mix between demonstrator and facilitator. At first, I will determine the topics that the student may need more help with. I show the student how I would approach the problem or topic, and then later use prompting questions to make sure they have fully understood. I believe there is no stupid question, and in fact I encourage students to ask lots of questions to facilitate learning.

My favourite subject is, of course, Biology. The complexity of living organisms makes me appreciate that we exist. My favourite learning experience in Biology was finding out about how salamanders can regrow their limbs after injury/amputation in an Undergraduate lecture!

About

Hello! I am Ahmed, and I'm a first year undergraduate mathematics student at the University of Cambridge, on top of being an experienced tutor. I achieved 5A*s in A-levels (Maths, Further Maths, Physics, Chemistry, EPQ) and 11A*s and 1A in my GCSEs. I've received multiple awards from competitions, such as a top 5 gold in the British Physics Olympiad Computational Challenge.
I worked on content creation at Sophos for maths, physics, and chemistry, and mainly tutor maths, but can also tutor GCSE physics and chemistry. My maths tutoring experience ranges from tutoring GCSE students all the way to helping Cambridge maths offer holders with preparing for the STEP exams, as well as doing Oxbridge mock interviews and offering application advice for mathematical subjects. I offer maths tutoring for GCSE, A-level, IB, STEP, and Oxbridge admissions.
My tutoring approach involves building up a student's confidence in the subject, and making sure they learn to enjoy their mathematics. Practice makes perfect especially when it comes to maths. My lessons are engaging and ensure the student is doing exercises and problems during the lesson, offering guidance and hints as needed.
The thing I love most about mathematics is how simple fundamental facts can be used to prove beautiful results, and just how much creative thought the subject really entails. I tutor to make others appreciate just how amazing the subject is.

About

Hello! I'm in my second year studying History and Politics at Cambridge.

I consider the most important thing when tutoring is personalising your approach for each tutee. Each tutee has different strengths, but each one has the ability to succeed!

The tried and tested methods I developed during my own studies, informed by the science of learning, earned me grade 9s in all 11 of my GCSEs, three A*s in my A-Levels, and proved helpful for tutees and friends alike!

I'm passionate about sharing these methods with each of my tutees to ensure that you don't have to waste precious time figuring it out on your own, and that you can work smarter -- not harder -- to achieve grades that you are proud of.

I am happy to be flexible with my timings and accommodate any specific requests.

Please feel free to reach out with any questions, and thanks for visiting my profile!

About

Hi I'm Anree, a first year undergraduate at the University of Oxford studying Biology and I offer tutoring lessons in A-level and GCSE science and Music, specialising in A-Level Biology and Chemistry. At A-Levels I studied Biology, Chemistry, Physics, and Music as well as an EPQ in the Biology of Senescence and Aging, achieving A* in all my subjects. I have over two years of experience tutoring piano to students of various ages and abilities, ranging from 6-year-old beginners to intermediates in their 40s looking on to take on new challenges!
Throughout my time studying A-Levels I have tutored many peers, helping them get better grasps of understanding and memorising content, using resources effectively, approaching application questions and mark schemes in order to maximise marks in preparation of mocks and finals in A-level science - helping students improve and secure their desired grades while approaching exams with more confidence. Over this period I have taught more formally to a number of GCSE science students, helping achieve the grades they needed to progress in their academic journeys. Since starting university, I have taken these skills further by tutoring online, helping students receive support remotely and continue to improve their understanding and skills.
My lessons focus on ensuring complete understanding of topics being covered with particular attention to exam technique by looking at topic questions together and as homework. I give general and specific feedback with homework questions to make sure feedback is applicable to the topic and subject at hand and other subjects studied. Any students studying A-Level Biology, Chemistry, or Physics will receive a set of flashcards containing 1900, 1700, and 1400 cards respectively!

In my spare time I enjoy going to the gym, playing sax in my college orchestra, and I am one of the reps for the undergraduate committee for Biology for my year, giving students a voice in how the course is run at Oxford!

About

Hi! I'm Hana - a third year medical student at the University of Cambridge (although I'm currently studying biochemistry for a year!). For my A Levels I studied physics, biology, chemistry, maths and further maths - and I'm excited to share the study skills which helped me achieve 5A*s!!

I've been tutoring since second year on MyTutor, with particular experience teaching GCSE maths for Edexcel. However, alongside this I tutor biology, chemistry and physics at GCSE level, and biology for A Level. As an Oxbridge student, I would also love the opportunity to share with you my Oxbridge medicine application tips!

My personal tutoring approach centres around active recall and applying knowledge, with lots of questions and past paper examples! However, the main thing is delivering lessons that suit your learning style and that helps YOU do your best.

Seeing my students gaining understanding after struggling with a complex topic is such a rewarding feeling, and it's amazing to be able to share my passion for science and maths.

I'm really enjoying biochemistry at the minute as I find the minute details of cell function incredibly fascinating, and believe these concepts are key to understanding all other physiological processes. Outside of studying I love playing badminton and running, and am also planning of trying womens' rugby and handball this year at university!
